Michael B. Jordan is looking back on his All My Children past as he reflects on his amazing career in Hollywood.
The Friday Night Lights alum has become one of the biggest names in Hollywood. Jordan attributes a big part of that success to his time working on a soap.

Speaking with People at the 39th American Cinematheque Award, where he was being honored, Jordan got real about the impact being on All My Children had on his career. In fact, Jordan revealed one of the biggest surprises in his career was the time he spent on the ABC.
"It opened up so many doors in the most unexpected places for me, and that was... I think looking back at it, that was something that definitely caught me off guard. I didn't expect that one,ā the Creed star expressed.
Jordan was beyond surprised at the doors that opened simply because of people who watch soaps.
"I never knew how many casting directors and executives in Hollywood would tell me, 'Oh man, my wife really loves you.' Or like, 'Oh, she watches you all the time on the stories. ⦠Come in for this and read for that,'ā Jordan declared.

The Hollywood star also learned so much about discipline and work ethic from his time on All My Children. Jordan explained that he had to show up every day and know his lines because of the fast pace of the show.
"I think soap operas, we're doing a hundred-plus pages a day. The work ethic, the grind of that definitely gave me a built-in work ethic and helped me refine that discipline at an early age,ā the actor explained.
From 2003 to 2006, Jordan played Reggie Porter Montgomery on the soap opera All My Children. Jordan was recast in the role, taking over for Chadwick Boseman after he was fired from the show. During his time on the soap, Jordan learned from legendary soap stars like Walt Willey and Susan Lucci.
Two decades later, Michael B. Jordan fondly looks back on his time on All My Children and the huge impact it had on his Hollywood career. Along with acting, Jordan has also transitioned into directing, with his next project being the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, set for release in 2027.
