Dasha is making history in the country music industry.
The singer, 25, has joined the Spotify Billions Club with her breakthrough hit, āAustin (Boots Stop Workinā),ā becoming only the second solo female country artist to achieve the feat after Taylor Swift.
āI still canāt wrap my head around this,ā she said in a statement. āāAustinā changed my life, and now just two years after I put it out on my own ⦠itās officially hit a billion streams on Spotify.ā
Dasha called joining the ranks of Swift ā an artist who has āinspired me from day oneā ā in the Spotify Billions Club a ācompletely surrealā experience. (In addition to several of her pop hits, Swiftās country songs 'Love Story,' 'Love Story (Taylorās Version),' 'You Belong With Me (Taylorās Version),' 'All Too Well (10 Minute Version)' and 'I Knew You Were Trouble' also have more than 1 billion streams on the platform.)

āAll Iāve ever wanted is to make music that helps people feel like the strongest, most badass version of themselves,ā she continued. āāAustinā was written in pure rage, but it somehow turned into this beautiful source of community and empowerment. Iām the luckiest girl in the world. I have the best team, the best family and friends, and now a billion streams on my first breakout song ⦠thatās the juiciest cherry on top.ā
Dasha released āAustin (Boots Stop Workinā)ā in November 2023. The songās success led to a record deal as well as her 2025 ACM Awards nomination for best new female artist, her performance at the 2025 Stagecoach Festival and her own 2024 world tour, Dashville, USA.
After learning of her Spotify Billions Club milestone, Dasha reflected on her country music breakthrough.
āIt kind of feels like Iām being pranked sometimes because this is my first hit song,ā she told People in an interview published on Saturday, November 15. āThis is my first moment, and I recognize how rare and f---ing insane this is. You donāt usually get this for your first one.ā
She added: āAll of a sudden, oh, my God, you have this huge song ⦠itās so satisfying and itās so scary and itās just fun. Itās crazy starting off my career with this as the first milestone. So itās big shoes to fill, but Iām ready. Iām excited for this.ā
Dasha described her quick ascent to stardom with āAustin (Boots Stop Workinā)ā as āthe perfect storm.ā
āItās funny because I didnāt even try to write a song that was the pop country smash of the year, but that was not my intention at all,ā she said. āIt was just, I felt like I finally found my sound as an artist after writing songs for over 15 years because it takes so long.ā
