Amid a day of lively Hot Topics discussions, comedian Joy Behar mocked Nuzzi over details from the latter's new book, *American Canto,* in which she writes about an alleged affair between an unnamed political figure — who was widely, previously reported to have been RFK Jr. in an incident that preceded the writer's 2024 departure from *New York* magazine.

Behar asked, "Is she vaccinated?" as a dig at RFK Jr.'s controversial past stances on health and the human body, before Alyssa Farah Griffin jumped in to offer a more serious analysis of Nuzzi's work.**

"I want to give her the credibility, she's one of the best writers of my generation," Griffin said, with Sunny Hostin jumping in later to ask about the alleged affair, "Why is she having affairs with subjects?"

"I'm gonna get there," Griffin said in response to Hostin's interruption. She said that she remains frustrated that when this story comes up, there are so many calls for her to be held accountable, her being dragged, and RFK Jr., who allegedly participated in this, just gets off scot-free and is in the cabinet. That bothers me."

While she noted age difference and perceived power dynamic imbalance between Nuzzi and RFK Jr., Griffin also said that writers who "break ethical boundaries" can make "people lose trust in the media."

She finished her thought by saying that "it hurts other women when stories like this come out," after the cohosts observed that women are often wrongly accused of using their sexuality to get ahead in the workplace.

Finally, near the end of the segment, Haines made another joke about Nuzzi's alleged affair, quipping that her "choice in men is questionable."

*The View* cohosts have long criticized RFK Jr. at the Hot Topics table, including during an interview with his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, earlier this year.

After sparring with Hostin during the chat, which also saw moderator Whoopi Goldberg question RFK Jr.'s qualifications to hold his position, Hines reflected on the interaction in an interview with Billy Bush.

"They just wanted to grill me about Bobby," Hines told Bush, and added that she was "actually hoping that it was going to be more personal on *The View*" while also insinuating that she didn't think the cohosts fully read the book she was there to promote.**
