Martin Scorsese continues to make groundbreaking films these days, just like he did three decades ago — with a sprawling mob drama brought to life by a first-rate cast.

Casino just celebrated the 30th anniversary of its release, Variety reports, and it's a mesmerizing work of art by the Oscar-winning director, 83, that's certainly worth revisiting.

And now is a better time than ever since the three-hour film led by Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci is no longer living in the shadow of another Scorsese-helmed mob flick...

GoodFellas was released in 1990, five years before Casino, so there were the inevitable comparisons once Casino hit theaters in 1995. GoodFellas was widely regarded as a more fun cinematic experience despite its brutal nature, whereas Casino was just plain dark.

Nevertheless, Stone, 67, earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Lead Actress, and rightfully so. Her performance is reason enough to check out Casino — even if you've already seen it.

And chances are you're not watching it back-to-back with GoodFellas, so there's plenty else to enjoy. Watch out for an epic, crime-laced montage that's cut to a seemingly never-ending spin on The Rolling Stones' "Can't You Hear Me Knocking."

Stone made headlines late last month when she came to Sydney Sweeney's defense after the Euphoria star faced online backlash for her American Eagle jeans campaign over the summer. The ad’s tagline, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans,” sparked criticism from some who claimed the wordplay on “jeans” and “genes” carried racial undertones and implied genetic superiority.

Then, on Oct. 29, Stone spoke with Variety at the outlet’s Power of Women event in Los Angeles.

“It’s OK to use what mama gave you. It’s really fine,” the Basic Instinct star said, defending Sweeney. “It’s hard to be hot, and I think we all know that. It’s really OK to use every bit of hotness you have — right here, right now — and go for whatever that is, because everybody has their own certain kind of hotness, their own certain thing, and you’re supposed to go for that."
