- The White House released a statement slamming *The View* cohosts after Wednesday's show.
- A spokesperson calls the cohosts "Trump-deranged wackos" in an email to EW.
- The statement also accused the cohosts of having "Democrat friends" who allegedly conversed with Epstein.
After *The View *cohosts praised lawmakers for formally moving to direct the Department of Justice to release its files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein — and speculated about the impact the development might have on President Donald Trump — the White House has reacted to the TV stars' remarks in an exclusive statement to **.
On Wednesday's live show, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and former Trump White House staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin spoke at length about Congress approving the release of the files, with Haines expressing that this "might be the thing that breaks" the president after many Republican officials went against Trump's initial resistance to the matter.
In an email statement to EW just prior to news breaking that Trump signed the bill to release the files, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson called *The View* cohosts "Trump-deranged wackos" over their observations, before making other allegations about left-leaning politicians.

Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin on 'The View'.
Jackson said that the cohosts of "*The View* should start asking their Democrat friends — like Stacey Plaskett and Hakeem Jeffries — why they were soliciting money and sending dinner invites to Jeffrey Epstein AFTER he was a convicted sex offender."
The spokesperson's comment appears to reference House Minority Leader Jeffries' recent address of a past email Democratic fundraisers reportedly sent to Epstein on his behalf. Jeffries told CNN on Tuesday he has "no recollection of the email" in question.
It was also previously reported that Delegate Plaskett, who represents the U.S. Virgin Islands, exchanged texts with Epstein during a congressional hearing. (EW has reached out to Jeffries and Plaskett for comment.)
In Jackson's statement to EW, she finishes by asking, "What does *The View* have to say about that?"

A representative for *The View *did not respond to EW's request for comment on the White House's statement.
Jackson's remarks are not the first that the White House — and other government officials — have made against the cohosts of* The View* this year.
Just last week, the White House condemned Republican *View* star Ana Navarro for her assertion that the scandal surrounding the Epstein files involved "white, rich, powerful, entitled men" protecting other "white, rich, powerful, entitled men" and their interests.
“Like all TDS liberals, Ana only cares about the Epstein files because she thinks she can weaponize it against President Trump," the prior statement read, using an abbreviation often used to denote "Trump Derangement Syndrome."

Amid fallout from Jimmy Kimmel's temporary suspension from ABC following comments he made about the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, the White House issued an intimidating statement to EW calling *View* panelist Joy Behar an "irrelevant loser" and suggested that the talk show could be "pulled off the air."

The response came after Behar suggested that Trump was "jealous of Obama" because the president isn't "trim" or "happily married."
*The View* airs weekdays on ABC.**
