Candace Cameron Bure is learning from her mistakes when it comes to public clashes.

During an appearance on the *Stay True* podcast Monday, Bure shared that she's learned a new way to handle conflict and online controversies after getting involved in multiple feuds over the years with other celebrities. The *Full House *and *Fuller House *alum has made headlines several times over the years for clashing with her ex-costars like Jodie Sweetin and Miss Benny, and even former Hallmark Channel network colleague, Lacey Chabert.

The actress quipped that many of the public clashes she's been involved in were "not a feud on my end," and claimed they were often "just weird."**

"I usually don't fight back in the comments because nothing really comes from it," Candace, 49, told host Madison Prewett Troutt. "I feel like when you fight back in the comments, it becomes defensive. I feel like the more people defend themselves, the less integrity it holds."**

Bure said she's now in a place where she lets "God fight my battles a lot online."**

"I also let the other people who are genuine fans fight my battles for me too," she added. "Because sometimes they come in, they're like, 'She doesn't do that. That's not what she meant by that.' And so I'm like, 'You guys can do that.'"

The Great American Family channel star admitted it takes a lot of "self control" to refrain from responding in the moment.**

"You're like, 'God, I just have to let that go 'cause I'm not gonna please everybody, and just help me walk my walk that is honoring and pleasing to you as best as I can. Help me learn and discern,'" she said. "That's the biggest thing."

Conceding that she "makes mistakes all the time," Bure added that she's learned that it also requires "a lot of patience" as well as "grace for people."

"I pray the Holy Spirit gives me self-control everyday, especially in those situations, 'cause it feels brutal because you can't win," she continued. "You can't please both sides — you just can't. So there has to be a point in your life where you just let it go."

Bure, who began her career as a child actor in the early '80s, has frequently courted controversy for her anti-LGBTQIA+ stances — particularly after the vocal Christian said in a 2022 interview that her new holiday network home, GAF, would not feature queer characters in a prominent capacity.

Amid that controversy, JoJo Siwa, who previously suggested on social media that Bure was the rudest celebrity she'd ever met, slammed the* Fuller House* star on Instagram. Siwa's post received a comment of support from Sweetin, who also shared a wealth of LGBTQIA+ resources to her own Instagram Story following Bure's comments, urging her followers to support legislation that protects same-sex and interracial couples' rights to marry, as well as a post stressing that Jesus didn't condemn gay people.

Despite their opposing views and perceived slights against one another, Sweetin has made it clear that she has no ill-will towards her former sitcom sister.

During an appearance on *The Vault* podcast in April, Sweetin claimed that she and Bur have never "gotten into it" over their differing views.

"It's funny, we've never actually 'gotten into it'," she said. "She posted her viewpoint and I posted mine, and we've always been very different on those things. I think it was just… now all of that comes to the surface more."

Sweetin noted that she and Bure have lived "very different...lifestyles," but stressed that their relationship isn't contentious.

"We just exist in different worlds, but she is still someone I have known since I was five years old. It's like family members," she added. "Maybe we don't talk all the time, and I know if politics comes up, it is not going to go well, but I don't hate you. I am not going to not hug you, but I'm also not going to not keep my mouth shut. So that's what I did. That's how I look at it. You don't want to follow or whatever, that's cool."

"I'll be nice, but I will not be quiet," she concluded.
