SaldaƱa and Perego, who met on a flight to New York, quietly married in 2013 after just a few months of dating.
In a 2015 interview with InStyle, the From Scratch actress shared how her husband has allowed her to feel more at peace.
āSince Iāve been with Marco, Iāve been lowering my guard,ā she said at the time. āFinally, when we had our boys, I looked at my husband and I realized: I was meant for you, and you were meant for me. Iāve always felt comfortable around men as long as they were friends. Now I finally feel comfortable with my lover. I donāt want to be separate. I want my church. I want to live inside the religion of our own little family.ā
In 2018, SaldaƱa spoke to PEOPLE about how she and Perego have a "give-and-take" dynamic in their relationship.

"There's no directing my husband, and there's no him directing me," she said. "We are definitely the kind of artists and individuals who follow our own hearts, but we're very supportive and very opinionated."
The mom of three added: "It doesn't mean that we're not going to consider what the other person is thinking or what the other person is saying to us ā we will hear it. There is a lot of respect, and it's like a give-and-take."
